“Maim My Bitch” - Gremlins

If you aren’t already keeping up with Portals, the collaborative creation from several excellent bloggers, make it a point to do so. The other day, they premiered the new track from Gremlins - also a collaboration from a stellar lineup, this one comprising Mat Cothran (Coma Cinema), Patrick Jeffords (Toro Y Moi), Sam Ray (Ricky Eat Acid), and Katie Lee (Braids). My favorite parts of this track are the deliciously weird ambiance and the sensual bass (it’s all quite sexual, and not just because of the samples of moaning women littered liberally throughout) - along with the unifying synth and bits of noise. I love bits of noise. Also, it would appear that 5-track album (though “Introducing” and “Outchea” are brief) is available for free download already. It hardly needs saying that this deserves your ears’ attention. [link]
